  • Camiel

    FOUNDER & CEO, 🇳🇱

    Camiel is Founder and CEO. He is good at getting things done, networking, relationship management, entrepreneurship and coding.

    When he is not working, he likes to enjoy: cooking, football, Formula 1, running, technology and traveling.

  • Tjitze

    CCO, 🇳🇱

    Tjitze is responsible for Business Development. He loves working together in a team to make things happen and moving things forward.

    When he is not working he is enjoying his family with 3 kids, sports and bbq.

  • Robert

    FINANCE & HR, 🇳🇱

    Robert is responsible for the Backbone of the company. With Recruitment, HR, Finance and a little bit of Legal he likes to facilitate the Core Business like Sales, Teams and Development.

    After working hours and on the weekend his wife Mirjam is leading and they love eating, drinking good wine and long talks with kids and friends.

    Fotini has almost finished her PHD in Social and Political Science and has a passion for working in teams.

    She is good at organising, networking and really likes to learn new things, especially in the AI field. When she is not working, she likes cooking and dancing tango.

Birds.ai Origin

It all begins when Camiel, Anouk and Kitso first met in 2012 and founded Dutch UAS (www.dutchuas.nl) to develop and test an affordable and easy-to-use smart drone system for wildlife protection.

In November 2014, the team flew to a private nature reserve in South Africa to test the proof of concept in collaboration with rangers. The trip to South Africa made a big impression on the founding team and so they decided to continue their efforts as a company.

In 2016 we shifted our focus to automated visual inspections and launched the for-profit corporation Birds.ai. We learned that drones are great tools to collect images and can be used for numerous applications, but going through these images to find what you are looking for is a dull, time consuming and labour-intensive task.

By automating visual inspections, we are able to provide inspectors of solar plants, wind turbines, cell towers, power lines with health information to keep their vital assets in top condition.
