We analyse images from waste conveyor belts using Birds.ai view. Our in-house developed platform provides a detailed report of certain types of waste to estimate total volumes that could be separated, reused or recycled.

Problem

The difference in waste composition, ranging from plastics, composites to organic fractions (wood, cardboard), is challenging because it varies greatly per region and season. Manual work is inconsistent and lacks speed.

Solution

  • Data Collection

    We collect RGB images of the sorting centre. The visual data is used to train the algoritm to sort four kind of different materials.

  • Data Analysis

    We create a digital representation of the waste that gives a general overview of the different materials. Then we analyse the collected data on our AI-powered platform to detect and annotate effects.

  • Reporting Results

    Based on the analysis, we provide the asset owner with a detailed report of certain types of waste to estimate total volumes that could be seperated, reused or recycled.
